Notice the moments. The moments are your life.

Sometimes I think my only job in life is to be present long enough to notice things. To step out of the hum of my head and open my eyes and see what's in front of me.

An example of a noticed moment, from last night:

When my daughter, who is 3, finally climbed onto my lap with her 2 stuffed teddy bears, after protesting her bedtime for quite a while. Her hair was still damp from her bath and smelled like shampoo. She is tall for her age and was trying to curl herself completely on top of me, but her little feet kept slipping off. At that moment I remembered holding her as a baby. And I imagined one day when she won’t want to be on my lap. I rocked her for a while until she finally looked at me and said, “Mommy, this no comfortable. I go to my bed now.”

What have you noticed lately?
